Dear Hiway Member,

You and your family may be worried about the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), but we at Hiway want you to know we are here for you as we always have been. Though we’ve made a few changes to how we serve you in order to do our part to slow the spread, we’re not going anywhere, because at our core, Hiway is here to live out the credit union mission of people helping people.

Ways to Work With Us
As you may know, we recently closed our lobbies to general traffic, and we thank everyone for their patience as we worked out our new service delivery system. You can visit us at our branches via our drive-thrus, or work with us by phone. If you need to access a safe deposit box, you can make an appointment. We also recommend you learn about and give our mobile solutions a try, if you aren’t already using them. You can meet nearly all of your financial needs without leaving your home. With our digital tools, you can transfer and deposit money, as well as pay bills with your debit card, credit card, or via electronic transfer.

We know things have been busy at our main branch on Empire Drive, especially during peak hours (Monday mornings, and Fridays in general). If you’re able to, we highly recommend you visit the Empire branch outside of those peak times. Or, if you’re able to take a short drive south, our Fort Snelling branch team would welcome you – you can take care of business via our drive-thru.

Your Money is Safe and Insured
COVID-19 has cancelled, postponed, and slowed down much of American life, but the nation’s financial system operations are still strong. Your money is safe; your accounts are fully insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF) up to $250,000. There is no risk to keeping money in your account, but there are countless risks to holding cash.

We’re Here to Help You and Your Business
If you or your business are facing new financial challenges, our associates are dedicated to helping you through these uncertain times. You may be able to utilize the following relief options from Hiway:

• Skip-a-payment on your Hiway loan(s)
• Potential modification, consolidation or refinance on Hiway loans
• Emergency, low-rate hardship loans
• Fee waivers for hardship situations
• Free financial reviews with investment professionals
• Credit counseling services via LSS
Certificates, a safe place for dollars during this period of market volatility

Please contact us if we can assist with any of the above, or any other matter—this is not an all-inclusive list of ways we can help you or your business.

As a not-for-profit credit union, we have long been committed to working with our members along their ‘road of life,’ even—or maybe especially—when that road gets difficult. Now more than ever, we’re here for you.

Sincerely,
Dave Boden, President/CEO
